WDSF Presidium Approves Version 16 of the Breaking Rules and Regulations Manual (BRRM)

The WDSF Presidium has formally approved a series of significant updates to the WDSF Breaking Rules and Regulations Manual (BRRM), adopting Version 16 with immediate effect.

The motion, moved by WDSF 1st Vice-President and Vice-President for Sports, Mr. Nenad Jeftic, was carried following the conclusion of the Presidium voting period on 25 August 2026.

The transition reflects the WDSF’s ongoing commitment to supporting the global growth of Breaking while continuously improving the operational clarity, fairness, and governance consistency of its competitions.

The principal regulatory amendments introduced in BRRM Version 16 include:

Additional Age Groups: Introduction of new age categories to further structure athlete development pathways and expand participation opportunities.

BfG Team Battle Open Format: Refined rules and detailed provisions governing the Breaking for Gold (BfG) Team Battle Open format.

10-Second Timer: Implementation of a 10-second prompt timer to streamline Battle flow and ensure dynamic competition pacing.

Solo and Routine Round Time Limits: Establishment of fixed time caps of 60 seconds for Solo routines and 90 seconds for Team routines.

Red and Blue Side Positioning: Clearer identification protocols and technical directives for Red Side and Blue Side positioning during battles.
