Meet the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Athletes: B-Boy Saturn on Musical Instinct and Old-School Energy
For B-Boy Saturn, the path to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games is defined by a constant pursuit of aesthetic elegance amidst explosive energy. Representing Chinese Taipei, the young breaker has rapidly earned his place among the world’s greatest youth athletes, a trajectory recently highlighted by an impressive 5th-place finish at the WDSF World Championships Breaking Youth in Chengdu and his participation at the World Breaking DanceSport Festival in Australia.
Yet, when stepping into the cypher, his identity reverts to something pure, visual, and celestial.
"I just like the rings around Saturn," he reveals when asked about his nickname. "I hope my moves look as beautiful as Saturn’s rings when I’m in a cypher or a Battle."
Translating Pressure into Flow
Reaching the Olympic level demands a psychological toughness that matches physical skill. For Saturn, his most critical breakthrough was learning how to navigate intense battle pressure and transform moment-of-truth anxiety into pure, instinctual movement.
Instead of letting anxiety dictate his rounds, he developed a personal blueprint for battle composure that continues to serve him on international floors.
"Before a Battle, I try to calm myself down, talk myself through the pressure, and focus on feeling the music, moving naturally, and enjoying the moment on stage."
That reliance on musical instinct is anchored in a deep appreciation for the genre’s roots. When the DJ drops a track, Saturn finds his highest energy in traditional rhythms, drawing momentum from classic breakbeats and old-school textures that allow his movement to flow organically.
Drawing Inspiration: From Daily Life to Global Icons
Saturn’s creative process bridges everyday observation with high-level athletic coaching. Rather than restricting his conceptual development to the dance studio, he gathers ideas from daily life and surrounding sports, refining raw concepts alongside his coach to build distinct footwork sets and freezes.
When looking at the global stage, his style sits at the intersection of two major Breaking influences: the explosive power of Japan's Issin and a deep sense of unmatched originality and personality.
By blending high-velocity dynamics with meticulous originality, the Chinese Taipei athlete is continually evolving his identity on the floor. Looking ahead to Dakar 2026, he is ready to unveil the next phase of his evolution:
"I’m excited to share my new moves and a new ‘SATURN’ on the Youth Olympic stage."
