The International World Games Association (IWGA) has officially opened public voting for the Athlete of the Year 2025, recognising the world’s most outstanding performers across all sports featured in The World Games 2025 in Chengdu.
Among the 30 shortlisted candidates are two exceptional representatives of the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF): Marius-Andrei Balan and Khrystyna Moshenska, whose extraordinary competitive record places them among the most successful Latin DanceSport athletes of their generation.
Balan and Moshenska have demonstrated sustained excellence at the highest level, building a career defined by multiple World Championship victories, continental titles, and consistent success in elite international competitions across the globe, like their Gold lasta year at The World Games 2025.Their achievements include:
- World Championships: 2021 Pforzheim, 2022 Muelheim an der Ruhr, 2023 Sibiu, 2024 Wuxi, 2025 Leipzig
- European Championships: 2019 Warsaw, 2022 Càlvia
- The World Games: Silver 2022 (Birmingham, USA), Gold 2025 (Chengdu, China)
Their dominance, longevity, and artistry make them a true benchmark for Latin DanceSport, and their nomination for IWGA Athlete of the Year 2025 highlights the growing international recognition of the discipline.
