Sibiu, Romania, 2nd November — The final day of the Transylvanian Grand Prix 2025 unfolded in a crescendo of energy, artistry, and celebration. Following an opening day that had already captivated audiences around the world, Sunday brought the ultimate test of skill and endurance as competitors returned to Sala Transilvania to close the 10th anniversary edition of the event in unforgettable fashion.

If Saturday was about anticipation and promise, Sunday was about culmination, the moment when preparation met performance, and years of dedication were distilled into a few breathtaking minutes on the floor. From the first note of the orchestra to the final standing ovation, the atmosphere inside the arena was electric, with dancers, coaches, and fans united by a shared passion for DanceSport at its highest level. 

As the event celebrated its tenth year, the weekend became more than just a competition, it was a tribute to a decade of progress, unity, and passion. Over ten years, Sibiu has evolved from an emerging host city to a cornerstone of the global DanceSport calendar, attracting champions, rising stars, and devoted fans from across continents. Throughout the weekend, more than 40 nations were represented on the floor, proving that DanceSport’s global community is as diverse as it is united.

Highlights and Key Results of the day, 2nd November

The second day of competition offered spectators a full showcase of talent across multiple DanceSport categories. Among the events held were the WDSF Open Standard Youth, Junior II, and Rising Stars, as well as the World Championship PD Ten Dance Adult, World Championship Latin Junior II, and the WDSF World Open (new series) Standard Adult. From emerging junior couples to seasoned adult competitors, the day highlighted the technical skill, artistry, and competitive spirit of dancers from across Europe and beyond. WDSF Open Standard Youth         

The Romanian triumvirate that claimed the top-three places in Sibiu made a compelling statement about the strength of their country in the Standard category. At the top stood Patrick Berbece and Andreea Sturzinschi, whose gold underscores a trajectory of consistent success: just yesterday they had lifted the title in the Youth Standard at Sibiu itself, and only weeks ago they placed 3rd in Rome’s Open Standard Youth.

In second were Robert‑Leonard Coman and Sara‑Maria Velea, who have matured rapidly into podium regulars. Their résumé includes a win in Bremen’s Youth Standard and a 3rd place at Rome’s Under-21 Standard earlier this year, signalling their readiness for the senior stage.

The bronze went to Radu Raul Gabriel and Ioana Usvat, another home-grown duo whose climb is equally noteworthy. They recently won an Open Standard Youth in Varazdin and secured further finals appearances in major Junior/Youth events, emphasising their potential to break fully into adult competition.

Taking gold were Sasa AdnagyDanilov and RobertaAndreea Cocic (ROU),who have consistently impressed on the international stage, including their gold spot at the Standard Junior II in Rome earlier this year. Their commanding performance in Sibiu reinforced their status as one of Romania’s most promising Junior II Standard couples.

Silver went to fellow Romanians Mircea Andrei Dumitru and Alexandra Vasile, a duo with an equally strong track record. Recent podiums in the Open Standard Junior II events in Platja d´Aro and Chisinau demonstrated their technical precision and musicality, making them reliable challengers at the top level.

The bronze medal was claimed by Krzysztof Szostak and Alicja Czopek (POL), who have steadily established themselves on the European Junior II circuit. With recent top‑two placements at Elblag and Brno, their performance in Sibiu confirmed their rising status among Poland’s leading young Standard couples.

Taking gold were Andrea Deleidi and Sara Iuri (ITA), who have demonstrated remarkable consistency over the past year with multiple first-place finishes, including victories earlier this year in Rome and Cossirano di Trenzano. Silver went to Yehor Yakovliev and Dinca Roxana Maria (ROU), whose strong performances include top-five finishes in international Rising Stars and Adult Standard events such as Magdeburg last month. The bronze medal was claimed by Tomasz Depczynski and Aleksandra Kolodziej (POL), who have earned great positions at International Open events in Valencia, and Ankara earlier this year.

Together, these three couples illustrated not only technical skill and artistry but also the rising standard of competition in the Standard Rising Stars category, signalling a bright future for the next generation of DanceSport athletes.

Their previous major international title came at the World Cup PD Ten Dance in Varna 2023, and their triumph in Sibiu adds yet another prestigious win to their record. It was also a proud moment for the host nation, as their victory contributed to a weekend rich with Romanian successes across multiple categories. Tizio Tiago Domingues da Silva and Isabell Zagorje (GER)took the gold, continuing a remarkable run of victories at major Open events across Europe, including Stuttgart, Wuppertal and Wroclaw, earlier this year, demonstrating exceptional precision, rhythmical interpretation, and partnership. Remarkably, the pair have been dancing together for only one year, making this triumph all the more promising for their future. It was a closely contested final, with the local crowd passionately supporting the silver medallists from Romania. Yet, the German duo prevailed with poise and artistry, earning well-deserved recognition from both judges and spectators.

A particularly touching moment came when, upon being announced as champions, they embraced on the floor, an image that perfectly captured the emotion of the evening. Silver went to Babaian Yelysei and Dobre Irina Ioana (ROU),who have been consistently among the top performers, with recent wins in Bremen and Larnaca, earlier this year, second-place finishes in Stuttgart, and strong results across Youth and Junior II competitions throughout Europe. The bronze medal was claimed by Tymoteusz Korczyk and Olga Stachowiak (POL), who have also shown impressive versatility and competitiveness with victories in Elblag and Lodz this year, alongside multiple podium finishes at Children Grand Prix events.

WDSF World Open (new series) Standard Adult

At the top of the podium stood Yahor Boldysh & Irina Averina (GER), whose triumph in Sibiu marks a compelling culmination of their rapid rise. Having joined forces in 2018, they chalked up earlier victories including International Open Standard Adult events notably wins in Magdeburg and Brno in October 2025. Their performance this weekend underlines that they are now genuine contenders for the very top tier.

In second place, Bartłomiej Szkutnik & Agata Brychcy (POL) added another strong result to a string of podium finishes. The pair have consistently delivered in major events, for instance they placed 2nd in the World Open (New Series) Standard Adult in Elbląg in October 2025, and previously secured 1st place at the International Open Standard Adult in Wrocław in April earlier this year. Their second-place finish in Sibiu confirms that they remain among the establishment figures in the Standard category.

Claiming bronze were Kirill Pavlov & Kristina Shinkariuk (ESP), a relatively newer combination on the world stage but one increasingly bringing themselves to the attention of the elite. They secured a win at the International Open Standard Adult in Calvià in March 2025, and a 2nd-place finish at the World Open (New Series) Standard Adult in Brno in October 2025. Their podium result in Sibiu is further proof that they are forcing their way into the top-group conversations.
