The Countdown is On: Paris Prepares to Crown the World’s Best in Breaking and Hip Hop Freestyle as Registration Opens for the 2026 WDSF World Championships

With just a few months to go until the global DanceSport community converges once again on the French capital, the excitement is reaching fever pitch. Following the historic and unforgettable success of Breaking at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the discipline makes its triumphant return to the city for the first time since the Games, hosted in grand style at the magnificent Adidas Arena.

From 4 to 6 December 2026, the state-of-the-art venue, expected to be packed to the brim with passionate fans, will transform into the ultimate cypher for urban culture and elite athletic performance. As registration for athletes officially opens, the stage is set to welcome the absolute top of the tops of international talent.

Over three high-octane days, Paris will witness elite B-Boys and B-Girls go toe-to-toe in high-stakes 1 vs 1 showdowns, alongside the world’s most dynamic Hip Hop Freestyle athletes and crews competing across individual, duo, and team categories.

This major milestone in Paris forms part of an electrifying global autumn for the discipline: following Breaking’s high-profile presence at the Asian Games in October and ahead of its showcase on the Youth Olympic Games program in Dakar this November, the WDSF World Championships in the French capital will cement 2026 as an extraordinary benchmark year for urban DanceSport worldwide.
