Keeping You Informed

The total number of entries for today's GrandSlam Standard has fallen below 100. Only 92 couples are present and 80 ready to dance the first round. That will allow for the competition to be danced in five rounds, instead of the six that were initially scheduled.

The most promiment absentees should be the two Lithuanian couples, Evaldas Sodeika and Ieva Zukauskaite, the #2 in the GrandSlam and World Rankings, as well as Vaidotas Lacitis and Veronika Golodneva, currently #6 in the world. But a few Russian contenders who are in the top ten won't be dancing today either: Evgeny Moshenin - Dana Spitsyna (#3) and Evgeny Nikitin  - Anastasia Miliutina (#9). Let's just hope we will see all of them again in Stuttgart, GER, three weeks from today.

And here is some information on the 2018 World SEN IV Standard danced today in Nagano, JPN: I guess the results as they appear on this website will require some more work, but the way it looks, our fellow Communications team member Helmut Roland and his wife Eleonore have made it to the 32nd place of the more than 100 couples entered. Congratulations!
