The 2011 GrandSlam Finals

Martino Zanibellato and Michelle Abildtrup, DEN Denmark, the powerhous in Standard with two couples in the final and the Champions last night, has strong strong Latin dancers two. Two couples had qualified for today's Grand Slam Latin Final.
Martino Zanibellato and Michelle Abildtrup, ranked # 4 in the world, are here. Troels Bager and Ina Jeliazkova, ranked # 12, are not.

They have also withdrawn at the very last moment.  A sudden career change mabye? In any case, we're very glad to have Martino and Michelle here with us. And they sat down for a chat with Helmut too. Under the Spanish sun!

Helmut Roland with Andrey Zaytsev and Anna Kuzminskaya Welcome back to the "Live from Salou" blog where today's fare will be Latin, more specifically the Grand Slam Latin Final scheduled for much later. Much, much later!

The WDSF Communications team has had a ver short night and is already back in the saddle, recording a few interviews with the participants in the Grand Slam Latin. 11:00 we had agreed to meet with Andrey Zaytsev and Anna Kuzminskaya, RUS, and there they were ready to roll. Poolside as you can appreciate on the photo!

XIII Spanish Open Salou And still going strong! It was 07:30 this morning when the doors opened here at the Municipal Sports Hall in Salou. The first round of a Senior I Open Standard started at 09:00 and it hasn't stopped since. Latin Opens, Rising Stars, all ages, all styles ...

Interview with Marco Sietas, WDSF Sports Director 03/12/2011

Marco Sietas was very much involved in the development of the new WDSF Judging System. For the Grand Slam Finals tonight, he assumes the role of chairman and supervises the panel of nine judges who will use the system. Helmut Roland got Marco's views too.
