The star couples

The 2019 WDSF GrandSlam Series is about to begin with 91 Standard couples on the starting list. All of the top 15 couples on the current World Ranking List are here, except for the winners of the 2018 GrandSlam Series Final, Dmitry Zharkov and Olga Kulikova (RUS), who announced their retirement from amateur competitions right after the Shanghai final in December. The world now awaits to crown the new champions - and there are many talented and strong couples doing their best to fill the parquet with their presence and to steal the spotlight from now on!

For the first time, the GrandSlam Series has arrived in Romania, and the number of Romanian couples in today's competition is high. There are 29 couples representing the host country, which will surely create a nice and a supportive atmosphere already from the first rounds.

The Chairperson has set the star couples for the WDSF GrandSlam Standard. The star couples are:

156 Evgeny Moshenin – Dana Spitsyna, Russian Federation
162 Evgeny Nikitin – Anastasia Miliutina, Russian Federation
173 Vadim Shurin – Anastasia Meshkova, Latvia
177 Anton Skuratov – Alena Uehlin, Germany
178 Evaldas Sodeika – Ieva Zukauskaite, Lithuania

The star couples will dance from the second round of the competition, estimated to start at 17:40 local time (16:40 CET).
