How did you get in contact with Dancesport ?
Simone was challenged by his uncle as a child who woke his interest in dancing by saying he could never be better than him. Annette played very successful tennis but unfortunately or maybe fortunately her spine got a deformation so a doctor advised her to visit some dance class in order to correct her posture.
What is the fascination that you are still involved in Dancesport ?
The challenge of improvement , the enjoyment of dancing together to wonderful music.
What is your aim in Dancesport ?
To get the most out of our potential and to be able to show it while we still compete, to leave an image of ourselves in the dance world and to become successful teachers.
Is there something in Dancesport nowadays what you are worried about ?
Many are worried about new things. Actually we prefer to be surprised instead of being worried. There are always two sides good and bad of everything in the world. It depends which one you wanna look at. For Dancesport it’s necessary that couples keep enjoying what they do.
How long are you dancing ?
We have danced together for 7 years. Annette is dancing now for 20 and Simone for 19 years.
What is your favorite dance ?
We both like very much Slow Fox, although it can change depending on the mood we have on the day and the music.
Who is your main trainer ?
Our main teachers are William Pino & Alessandra Bucciarelli and we had the big fortune to be closed students of the great teacher Oliver Wessel – Therhorn.
Where do you mainly live ?
We keep travelling a lot but try to spent half of our time in italy and half in germany. But of course this is not always possible so we have to be flexible and adapt to the situation.
Do you have time to meet friends ?
Most of our friends fortunately are part of the dance world so we have the possibility to meet them nearly every weekend somewhere else in the world.
Your education, job :
Annette did 2 years of military sport company after graduating with the Abitur from highschool . She started to do a distance learning university in economics but the free time is very restricted and we dedicate every minute for our dancing now. Simone finished artistic highschool leading to architecture university.
What are you going to do if there is - completely unexpected - a free day for you ?
Of course the first thing in mind is to relax but because it’s very unusual to have free time we straight away use it for something else we love to do which is definitely for Simone Photography and for Annette spending time with her family, read, sew and play with her dog ;-)
Do you have any hobbies beside dancing ?
