But it happens regularly in the Czech Republic, with public broadcaster CESKA TV integrating a WDSF Championship into an entertaining 90-minute programme scheduled for a Saturday night.
It all started a few years ago when the Czech DanceSport Federation and Ostrava organiser Frantisek Davidek collaborated with CESKA TV in creating a highly telegenic programme that combines serious DanceSport competition with pure entertainment. Since then, this 'Galashow s latinou' has become a regular fixture in the fall schedule of CESKA TV.
Last year its focus was on the WDSF PD World Latin that was held at the CESK Arena on 12 October. WDSF Communications reported on it here. This year it is the Professional Division World Showdance Latin that is assigned the primetime slot on Saturday 4 October. A WDSF Communications team will be on location and bring you coverage through the 'Live from Ostrava' blog.
