Holiday Season and New Year Message 22/12/2021

HH.jpg Dear DanceSport Community,

As we come to the end of another year, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for the continued commitment you showed our sport in 2021.

It has been a difficult period for all of us, but the passion and joy that you bring to our events, whether as an athlete, official, spectator or organizer, convinces me that we can, together, overcome any challenge.

Over the last few months especially, I was delighted to see so many competitions taking place again around the world. Despite some last-minute cancellations due to the COVID situations in organizing countries, 80 percent of all scheduled WDSF championships were successfully completed this year.

Considering the obstacles in our way, that is a satisfying number and one that should give us all hope and encouragement as we head into the new year.

We will continue to face challenges in 2022, of course, but I am convinced that they will only serve to make us stronger as long as we remain focused on our goals and motivated to achieve them.

I wish you all a happy holiday period and the best of new beginnings in 2022.

Warm regards,

Shawn Tay

WDSF President
