WDSF Strengthens Breaking Division to Empower Global Breaking Community

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is proud to announce exciting new initiatives for its Breaking Division, dedicated to amplifying the voices of Breakers, preserving the essence of the community, and fostering sustainable growth in the wake of Breaking’s historic debut at Paris 2024.

Following recent events such as The World Games in People's Republic of China and the WDSF World Championships Youth in Portugal, with upcoming key events including the WDSF World Championships in Japan, the Asian Games in Japan, and the Youth Olympic Games 2026 in Dakar, the WDSF is focused on expanding and strengthening the global Breaking infrastructure. This effort includes increasing the number of competitions at both national and international levels.

The Division will continue to be led by the seasoned trio from the existing WDSF Breaking Core GroupBojin (Presidium member), Max, and MG—who will oversee its growth and strategic direction. Complementing this leadership, the addition of 12 influential new members will enhance the division’s capacity to support Breakers worldwide and create more opportunities for both youth and adult athletes.

New Members of the Breaking Division include:

Jacopo "Snook" Scotti (Italy):

With over 20 years of experience, Snook has been active in the Breaking scene since 2001. He has organized the Check the Style - World Final since 2003 and has served as the art director of Zero Gravity International Dance Academy since 2011. He has been the Breaking coordinator for FIDESM since 2025. His extensive experience continues to support the sport’s growth worldwide.

Heonjun "Skim" Kim (Republic of Korea):

Founder of Jinjo Crew, Skim, is a leading figure in the global Breaking scene with multiple major titles. He served on the WDSF Core Group and judged at high-profile international competitions. Skim is committed to mentoring the next generation and advancing fair, athlete-centered systems worldwide. He actively directs major events and is a key ambassador for the sport’s cultural integration.

Katsuyuki "Katsu One" Ishikawa (Japan):

He is a prominent figure in Japan’s Breaking scene. He serves as the General Manager of the Breaking Division at the Japan DanceSport Federation and is also the Director of the Urban Sports Games Organizing Committee. Katsu One has contributed extensively to the development of Breaking through coaching, judging, and promoting the sport’s inclusion in international multi-sport events, including the Youth Olympics and the Olympics. He served as Japan’s national coach at the Olympics where B-Girl Ami won the gold medal.

Alberto "Extremo" Pardo (Spain):

With nearly three decades in Breaking, Extremo is a professional dancer, choreographer, judge, and coach. He represents the legendary "Addictos Crew" and "XVII Generation". He served as head coach of the Spanish national team from 2022 to 2024 and is now the Sports Director (2025). Extremo has competed internationally and judged at many major events around the globe. His leadership helps integrate Breaking into broader sporting and educational frameworks.

Babyson (France):

A pioneering French female figure in Breaking, Babyson gained recognition after winning the World Breaking Championships in 2001. She is an esteemed judge and mentor, actively flowing into the next generation through workshops and performances worldwide. Babyson leads Art Move Concept, creating innovative dance productions that blend hip hop, classical, and contemporary genres. Her dedication to artistic growth inspires the future of Breaking.

Egor "Dach" Matiukhin (Ukraine):

B-Boy since 2000, X-Makers crew, Co-founder and head of the Breaking Department at AUDSBF, Egor was also leading Ukraine’s Olympic Breaking Team for Paris 2024. He has been instrumental in the development of Breaking in Ukraine and internationally through his work with NGO Street Culture. Egor's leadership promotes youth empowerment and recognition within the street culture & sport. His efforts continue to elevate Breaking’s global presence.

Lu "Sweet-Lu" Espinosa (United States):

With over 20 years dedicated to Breaking, Lu Espinosa is a prominent dancer, educator, and event producer with a global influence. He currently serves as the National Breaking Chair for USA Dance and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), working to develop pathways to the Olympics. Lu has mentored countless dancers and contributed to the expansion of the Pro Breaking Tour. His ongoing efforts are vital in positioning Breaking as a respected competitive sport.

Lian "Kowloon" Jiulong (People's Republic of China):

Founder of Green Panda Brand, Kowloon has more than 20 years in dance and extensive judging experience at major international events, including the 2024 Olympics. He’s served as a judge at over 200 competitions and founded China’s first street dance television show. Kowloon’s work has significantly influenced the growth of street dance in China and beyond. His global outreach continues to promote youth and cultural development.

Victor "Kid Glyde" Alicea (Puerto Rico):

President of the Dynamic Rockers, Kid Glyde has over 20 years of experience organizing youth events and empowering communities through Breaking. He has judged key battles and is the Head of Judges Evaluation for the Olympics through WDSF. He has organized major events such as Evolution and the Kids Breaking League (KBL). His ongoing work supports youth development and cultural exchange.

Mateusz "Kido" Dabrowski (Poland):

B-Boy Kido since 2006, is now focusing on judging and organizing. He has been a certified WDSF judge since 2021 and actively supports the development of Breaking across Poland and Europe. Kido is also a respected DJ and supports youth and community projects. His event organizing experience includes events such as 2023 European GamesUnited Session and Art of Breaking.

Lowe Napalan (Australia):

With over 25 years of Breaking experience, Lowe has been a key supporter of the Australian scene, winning titles such as Australian BC One Champion and 2x Pacific + Australian Battle of the Year Champion. He is committed to nurturing new talent and building opportunities for young dancers. Lowe’s dedication helps expand Australia’s presence within the international Breaking community. He continues to foster the future of Breaking in his region.

Johnathon "Johnny Yayo" Karalis (Australia):

A B-Boy with 25 years of experience, Johnny Yayo represents Fresh Sox and Zulu Kings crews. He is known for his international battle victories and influence in the Australian scene. With a background in events management, film, and finance, he actively promotes Australian talent and advocates for global recognition. He continues to push for global recognition of the country's raw talent and world-class potential.
