Good News ... Bad News

SWR Let's take the good news first! The 2011 Grand Slam Stuttgart will be televised by SWR. It belongs to the national public broadcasting network ARD and has produced coverage on the German Open Championships for many years already.

This time, SWR will air a 90-minute live programme on Saturday, 20 August, from 22:20 to 23:50 CEST. The semi-final and final of the Grand Slam Standard plus the final round of the Boogie Woogie World Championship will be the main focus of the show, and a highlight on the Grand Slam Latin will be included too.

The bad news second! This long-standing commitment by German broadcasting organisations to DanceSport - and to the German DanceSport Federation - implies that WDSF Communications will not be able to show any footage of the Grand Slam events in GERMANY until after the programme has been aired by SWR. We will have to BLOCK our coverage on the WDSF YouTube channel DanceSport Total for all viewers (and for followers of this blog) in GERMANY until Sunday. Anyone with an IP address in Germany will not be able to watch the Grand Slam coverage here (or on DanceSport Total) until then. But no problem, they have a nationwide HD live broadcast to look forward to on Saturday! Which is the good news aagin!
