Thursday evening in Liederhalle ended with familiar names stepping on the podium. The four-times World Champions, Dmitry Zharkov – Olga Kulikova (RUS) had their first ever WDSF PD Super GrandPrix Standard competition in front of a loud and very supporting crowd.

”This moment when we just stepped on the floor and the audience went crazy, and the music started. It gives you a nice feeling. It gives you a feeling that all you did before means something, and the people respect. I think I will remember these moments till the end of my life”, Dmitry said at the winners’ interview. ”It’s a new chapter, a new page in our career, the first international victory in PD for us. And we really enjoyed to dance. I think all the couples today did a great job, and the atmosphere was really nice.”

Olga agreed and said ”Today we felt really free mentally, and it made us fly. The main importance to us was to dance. To dance really from the bottom of our hearts, and we loved it!”  She also said they felt hungry for the competition and for the feeling. ”Today, we tried to put some fire on the floor”, she continued. ”We made fire. That’s what I felt”, Dmitry concluded.

The runners-up, Nikolay Darin - Natalia Seredina (MDA) were happy with their dancing. "I think in the final it was really the best today that we could do”, Nikolay said.

The couple enjoyed the event and Natalia complimented the Germans ”The atmosphere here is amazing every year, so we are really happy to dance here. The orchestra music is really fantastic.”
