Oldenburg, Germany

Up in the north of Germany, in Oldenburg, next to Bremen, the IDSF European Championship Latin 2009 took place in the EWE-Arena. The organizer, TTC Club Oldenburg,  took all efforts to provide best conditions for all the competing couples. 65 couples out of 36 nations came to Oldenburg.

The EWE – Arena, normally used for all kind of Ball sports, is big enough for 3000 people.

The couples enjoyed the huge floor and the audience, app. 1600 people, appreciated the performances and created a very good atmosphere even in the afternoon rounds.

In the first rounds it was obvious, this will be an interesting night. Who is going to make the final ? From the first dance it was clear : Di-Filippo/Melnikova (ITA), Silde/Firstova (RUS), Plohl/Lahvinovich (CRO) and Batagelj/Strukelj (SLO) are at their best. In the end this was the ranking.

In the Final, which was televised by NDR, you could see dancing on highest level. Especially Stefano and Anna , reigning World Champions ,convinced the judges as well as the audience. Also the 2nd place for Alexey and Anna was out of all doubts. The 3rd place went to Zoran and Tatsiana, they took four dances from Jurij and Jagoda, who finished 4th. 5th was Martino Zanibellato and Michelle Abiltrup (DEN), 6th Timo Kulczak and Motshegetsi Mabuse from Germany.

Congratulations to all the couples !
