New USA Dance President 02/08/2016

Peter Pover and Lukas Hinder Peter Pover, who had assumed the presidency  of USA Dance for a third time after the resignation of previous office holder Yang Chen in the later part of 2015, stepped down on 31 July 2016. He announced his decision and his successor in a message to the USA Dance membership (below).

Peter Pover became involved in USA Dance back in 1980 and served as National President on three occasions: initially from 1988 to 1993, for a second term in 2008 to 2009 and stepped in to provide leadership again from December 2015.

Twelve months ago, I agreed to take part in a plan to restore order, and to move forward with the business of USA Dance, and to assist in healing some of the wounds that the organisation had suffered during the preceding years. I had hoped to continue this work until the end of 2016, but, unfortunately, my body decided otherwise. I will be leaving office July 31st, and handing over the reins to Ken Richards.

WDSF President Lukas Hinder, on behalf of the entire Presidium, thanks Peter Pover for his outstanding services to DanceSport at national and international levels (Peter was also a long-standing member of the WDSF Presidium) and wishes his successor Ken Richards all the best in serving as USA Dance President for the remainder of the term.
