05/03/2024 read more ...The six episodes of the 2017 World DanceSport GrandSlam Series have been airing on many of the approximately 350 public television stations across the United States and in the U.S. territories since June.
USA Dance, the WDSF National Member Body, has taken the lead in placing the series with broadcasters through American Public Television and in promoting it through the Marigold Media Group.
The campaign continues to progress vwell. Marigold's Nimmi Singh was particularly happy when she recently announced that WNET - Channel 13, the #1 public broadcasting station in New York City - which just so happens to be the #1 television market in the USA - has scheduled a 2017 World DanceSport GrandSlam Series MARATHON for Monday, September 3rd, a public holiday, from 11am - 5pm.
APT's Director of Business Development, Tom Davison, commented from his perspective: "This is really fantastic!! I do not know of any series I have worked on getting a six-hour marathon on WNET. It speaks to the quality of the program and the strong audience appeal."
This bodes well for a related project: the collaboration between local USA Dance Chapters and some of the public television stations during the upcoming pledge months.
