Wroclaw, POL - 27 July © Roland The final figures for Stage One of Breaking for Gold were encouraging by all standards: 1050 videos were submitted to the platform through 31 July. 134 had to be rejected on the grounds that they did not comply with the rules.

916 videos ended up being assessed by the panel of ten judges. 296 b-boys and 99 b-girls have qualified for Stage Two of Breaking for Gold by finishing in the top five of the ranking established for their country and gender.

The 395 breakers representing 81 nations have now been contacted and invited to confirm their entries into one of the three Continental Qualifiers. 86 (Americas) to the first event held on 6 October 2017 prior to the Silverback Open in Philadelphia, USA, 183 (Africa/Europe) to the second one held on 22 October, the day following the Battle of the Year in Essen, GER, and 126 to the last one taking place on 2 December as part of Taipei Bboy City in Taipei, TPE.
