Social Media Campaigning 21/03/2013

A day with ...

Creative minds are backing up the organisers of the 2013 WDSF European DanceSport Championship Standard held on 20 April in the city of Aarhus, DEN.

The Sport Aarhus Events team around Finn Lyck approached WDSF Communications with an idea to promote the European Standard and its protagonists through innovative campaigning on social media.

In the lead-up to the event, a facebook page is to present some of the couples that will be dancing for the title at the NRGi Arena with visuals (videos and photos) produced by the couples themselves.

WDSF Communication Commission chair Heidi Goetz is rallying to get the nominated couples to participate in the promotional initiative by providing self-produced content to the Sport Aarhus Events team. "A day with ..." is the title for short vignettes that aim to show a broad audience how dancers prepare for the European Standard Championship. A script guides the couples on how to produce the raw material for the vignettes.

Martino Zanibellato - Michelle Abildtrup, DEN, helped the Sport Aarhus Events team produce a pilot, even though they will not compete in Aarhus.
