World Opens 2016 04/02/2016

2015 Tbilisi World Open STD The WDSF Presidium approved two changes to the Regulations that govern World Open competitions. These changes are applied with immediate effect, from 25 January 2016, the date that they were approved.

The first concerns the time that organisers who failed to meet the stipulated minimum requirements for the number of couples and/or countries entered in their World Open have to wait until being eligible to host another World Open competition. The waiting time is forthwith reduced from the original three (3) years to one (1) year.

The organisers who failed to meet the participation requirements in 2013 or 2014 will be contacted by the WDSF Sports Director who advises them that they are eligible to organise a World Open during 2016.

The second change to the Regulations concerns the use of the Judging System 2.1 (JuDSys) in World Open competitions. The use of JuDSys is optional and at the discretion of the organisers during the remainder of 2016. From 1 January 2017 its use will become mandatory for all World Open competitions.

Organisers should contact the for further clarification and to advise him whether they plan on using JuDSys in 2016 already.
