EUROSPORT 2 © Lena Hilfiker The goal was - and continues to be - to find the perfect formula that will allow for the five annual GrandSlam legs and the finals to be broadcast to a maximum number of countries worldwide from 2013.

The World DanceSport Federation and its television partner IEC in Sports have a system in place that brings highlights programming of the World and European Championships to global TV audiences already. IEC distributes every year minimum five programmes under the brand "Best of DanceSport" to broadcasters everywhere.

WDSF is now trying to secure similar levels of exposure for its GrandSlam Series 2013 to 2017. The changed format - the new judging system, solo dances in the final, Latin and Standard legs always held jointly, etc. - should make for a television-friendly competition.

Shades of Gray Sunday's 2-hour programme was the first trial balloon launched between WDSF, the Platja d'Aro organisers and the pan-European sports network EUROSPORT.

From the latter's programming executives we are waiting to get feedback and hear their opinions based on ratings, technical aspects, etc. From you we would like to get input too. Please send your critiques, comments, suggestions, etc. to
