The WDSF DanceSport Festival is coming to Blackpool from 25 to 29 March 2026, transforming the Winter Gardens into the heart of international DanceSport once again. Behind every perfect turn, lift, and standing ovation is a dedicated team of volunteers, and now, you have the chance to be part of it. Whether you’re a student, a DanceSport enthusiast, a member of a club or academy, part of the Blackpool community, or an international volunteer, this is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience, meet people from across the globe, and contribute to a world-class sporting event. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering at the festival is more than helping out, it’s an experience. You’ll gain official accreditation, develop practical skills in event operations, and witness the excitement of a global DanceSport competition from the inside. You’ll also meet dancers, coaches, and fellow volunteers, all while being part of a team that ensures every aspect of the festival runs smoothly.

No matter your skills or interests, every role offers a chance to be part of a dynamic team, gain hands-on experience in event operations, and enjoy a behind-the-scenes perspective of a world-class DanceSport event. There’s always a role that fits, and every role contributes to the smooth running of the event.

How It Works: Application Process and Timeline

  1. Application Submission: Complete the Google Form and upload a passport-style profile photo (3:4 ratio, 600×800 px or higher, light background, head & shoulders, no sunglasses or hats, no filters).
  2. Screening and Selection: Pre-allocation of areas and shifts by the volunteer coordination team.
  3. Online Training: Complete e-learning modules covering safeguarding, health & safety and podium protocols.
  4. On-site Briefing: 24 March, collect your accreditation and uniform and take part in a venue walk-through.
  5. Event Operations: 25–29 March, volunteers work one shift per day, following team instructions and taking scheduled breaks.
