Three in One

2018 World Ten Dance Warsaw | @ Helmut Roland

This week will be something spectacular, as there will be three top-notch events in one place, Moscow (RUS).

The crown jewel of WDSF DanceSport, the WDSF GrandSlam Series has the fifth and the last qualifying legs for “the Shanghai Showdown”, the 2019 WDSF GrandSlam Series Finals. Both Standard and Latin Series this year have demonstrated skills, talent and exceptional athleticism by the couples, who can well be referred to as Standard and Latin SuperStars.

But, that is not all! What makes this week exceptional is the 2019 WDSF World Championship Ten Dance. The marathon, the most demanding competition format in WDSF, including double the number of dances, double the amount of various characters and styles, making it twice as hard as compared to competing in a single Standard or Latin discipline.

254 couples have registered for the GrandSlam Latin scheduled for Friday and Saturday, and 226 couples for the GrandSlam Standard scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. 35 couples are pursuing for the World Ten Dance title on Saturday. And all these SuperStars will meet in one place, on the floor of the brand-new Gymnastics Palace of Irina Viner-Usmanova, which has been opened this summer. Coach Viner-Usmanova was known for her talent in rhythm. Taking the multi-rhythm, demanding and esteemed disciplines of Standard and Latin to the venue dedicated to body movement, music and artistic sport couldn't be more appropriate.

The beautiful Russian capital Moscow hosts the Russian Open Championships, “the dance marathon”, which has started last Sunday and continues to Sunday this week. With these three highlights, it is one of the most important and valued events in the WDSF. Multi-disciplined events, including Breaking, as here in Moscow, give the whole spectrum of DanceSport to the followers, media, fans, athletes and audience. What could be a better way to celebrate dance, rhythmic movement to music!

All three events will be broadcasted live, only on DanceSportTotal.com!
