WDSF Disciplinary Decision – Mr. Zufar Zaripov
The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) informs that its Presidium has adopted a disciplinary decision concerning Mr. Zufar Zaripov, a WDSF licensed adjudicator, in relation to his conduct during the WDSF World Latin and Show Dance Championships held in Brno, Czech Republic, on 18–19 October 2025.
Following an investigation conducted by the WDSF Integrity Unit and in accordance with the WDSF Statutes and the Internal Dispute Resolution Code (IDRC), the Presidium determined that Mr. Zaripov engaged in misconduct in violation of the WDSF Adjudicators’
Code of Conduct and Standards of Ethics, as well as the WDSF Code of Ethics.
The findings relate to inappropriate behaviour, including intoxication, property damage, and public disorder, which were considered inconsistent with the standards expected of a WDSF licensed adjudicator and detrimental to the reputation of DanceSport and the WDSF.
In determining the appropriate sanction, the Presidium took into account the seriousness of the conduct, particularly given that it occurred in connection with a WDSF World Championship event, as well as mitigating factors, including the individual’s cooperation during the proceedings, acknowledgment of key elements of the misconduct, and restitution of damages.
Sanction
The WDSF Presidium has imposed the following sanctions:
- Suspension of Mr. Zaripov’s WDSF adjudicator license for a total period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with the IDRC.
- Credit has been given for the period of provisional suspension already served.
- A formal warning has been issued, with notice that any future misconduct may result in more severe sanctions.
The Presidium considers these measures appropriate and proportionate in light of the circumstances of the case and the need to uphold the integrity, reputation, and proper functioning of DanceSport.
The decision has been communicated to the individual concerned in accordance with the applicable procedures, including the right of appeal under the WDSF Internal Dispute Resolution Code.
The WDSF remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect across all its activities
