Fiat Lux

Broadcasting to the World © Marina Melnikova

Yesterday evening the members of the WDSF Communications team were involved in the production of the international broadcast signal of the GrandSlam Latin ... It will go out to the world in the form of a 56-minute highlight programme.

There were moments of tension, even high tension, as not everything worked out the way it was planned. As David Riera, the broadcast engineer and graphics operator summed it up: "In the end, the job got done. More cannot and should not be said!" Well, one thing comes to mind that could be added: "Fiat lux!"

We are confident that for today's broadcast things will work out much better. And as to yesterday's programme, it will simply take much longer to post-produce. After our editors work their magic, nobody will notice ...

Remember, you will be able to watch much of it in an extended 90-minute version - a director's cut of sorts - throught Vimeo on Demand. Full-length semi-final and final, behind-the-scene coverage with flash interviews at different stages in the competition, the works ... Atv a mere US$ 2.95 for a 90-day streaming period.
