The Beethoven Hall in Stuttgart was reverberating with cheers when the six finalists of the 2015 PD Super GrandPrix Standard each performed the Viennese Waltz as a solo dance. As the emcee pointed out, the number of solo dances for the PD GrandPrix final this year had been reduced from two to only one in order to suit the taste of the Stuttgart public.
However, the same emcee rightfully reprimanded the spectators when - despite of the shortened final - 80% of them chose to leave the hall prior to the award presentation. Very surprising indeed, given that the first place went to Benedetto Ferruggia and Claudia Koehler who represent the DanceSport Club Astoria Stuttgart. It was the couple's first Stuttgart win as professionals.
