In 2014 WDSF started to put select online videos behind a payment wall, expecting the viewers to charge their credit cards – or their PayPal accounts – for the privilege to watch premium content at a fair price.
WDSF chose Vimeo on Demand (VOD) as the streaming platform for its payment-based service and it established a commercial policy that did much more than simply ensure that the rental rates would be fair.
All VOD programmes are identical in terms of their quality to those that WDSF produces for worldwide broadcasting: HD, multiple cameras, full graphics, stereo sound, etc. If anything, they are better as they provide the most complete coverage, unique insights and exclusive interviews.
