That was it for round one ... 84 out of the 96 entries took to the floor. Many of them were photographed by WDSF Communications team member Helmut Roland. His 101 pictures have been added to our "Live from Helsinki" Photo Gallery that you can access from the menu above the first post in this blog. If you should be missing some dancers, remember he star couples will not join the action until the second round.
Speaking of our colleague Helmut, we are very proud to report that he and his wife made the semi-final in yesterday's Senior IV Open Standard. They finished tenth! Good show considering that it wasn't until late August last year that they resumed their joint DanceSport career, after a twenty-year break that Helmut took to pursue other passions such as photography. But then, his wife is an expert teacher!
Who failed completely yesterday were the rest of us on the team: we promised the Rolands that we would take pictures ... But in the end we forgot.
