Quite a few eyebrows were raised over the nomination of professionals in the last edition of The World Games. For 2009 Kaohsiung Italy fielded Paolo Bosco and Silvia Pitton after they had very recently switched to the WDSF Professional Division. The couple eventually claimed the Standard title.

At the time, not everybody concurred that pros and "amateurs" should compete against each other in the same competitions.

"For the IOC there are no professionals or amateurs, there are only athletes," is what the late IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch had to say when asked this specific question by WDSF.

In this year's WDSF PD World in Bassano del Grappa, ITA, they came in fourth.

Saverio Loria - Zeudi Zanetti, pictured above at last year's PD Grand Prix in Stuttgart, will also try as hard as they can to see the "Tricolore" raised at the end of the Latin event on 28 July. Fourth in the recent European Cup in Bad Pyrmont, GER, their aspirations are well justified.

Antonio and Jasmina Berardi are the Italian couple dancing the Salsa event. The two talents from Roccasecca are cast as the "Sibling Dancers" in the soon-to-be-released film "Latin Dream."
